Rock and roll bluegrass
Anyone familiar with Mumford & Sons? I first heard them a few months back, and have enjoyed their sound ever since. Who else could take traditional bluegrass instruments and make a sound playable on today's top hit radio stations? That, combined with the lead vocalist's impressive range of emotion in his music, and I'm hooked!
Re: Rock and roll bluegrass
Never heard of em, but I'm going to Youtube them and see what I can find.
Right now I've been hooked on symphonic metal. Should I post what I've heard here? Or in a new thread?

I think this thread will suit me just fine then. Maybe later on parts of the thread can be moved.
This is a quote from Wikipedia :
Symphonic metal is a term used to describe heavy metal music that has symphonic elements; that is, elements that are either borrowed from classical music or, as with progressive rock
music, create a style reminiscent of it, e.g. operatic female lead
vocals; instrumentation that includes acoustic guitars and different
types of keyboards instead of relying solely on electric guitars;"

This is a genre I've just gotten into and I have to say it's my favorite. Totally sweet music that can fit any epic movie score.
Some bands that I've listened to are, in no particular order:
Therion,
Symphony X
Epica
and one of my favorites Hammerfall.
What's interesting about Hammerfall, is one of the artists of their album covers is also the Blizzard art director for World of Warcraft. He likes the band so much that there are references to the band in game. I'll post more on that later.
However, if you enjoy good heavy metal, with great melodic vocals give it a shot.
